加拿大电力安全局(ESA, Electrical Safety Authority)是加拿大政府为避免未经许可的电器类产品流入市场而设立的单位，ESA被授权可对未经许可而进入加拿大安大略省的电器类产品予以没收或召回处理。Nxf安规与电磁兼容网

根据新产品安全条例第438/07号(Ontario Regulation 438/07. Manufacturer, wholesaler, product importer, distributor, retailer certification organization and field evaluator )规定，自2009年4月1日起，所有在加拿大安大略省销售的电子电器类产品的制造商，须向ESA网站(www.esasafe.com)进行相关注册程序。

目前电子电器类产品之强制范围共分为9大类：
1. 消费电子类产品Consumer electrical product
2. 商用电子类产品Commercial electrical product
3. 电子医疗装置Electrical medical device
4. 工业电子产品Industrial electrical product
5. 无线设备和产品Wiring device and product
6. 使用于危险环境下的电池驱动产品Battery operated product used in hazardous location
7. 用于对电池驱动产品进行充电用途之外接式电源External power supplies used for recharging purposes which could be used with a battery operated product
8. 带有电线和插头的生命安全及保护装置 (例如：烟雾侦测器、一氧化碳侦测器) Hard wired and plug-in feature product used for a life safety and/or protection function.
9. 用于以上各种产品的零部件Certified components used in any of the above end product

ESA规定所有正在或即将销往加拿大安大略省之产品必须先取得安全认证标志（CSA、cUL、cETL、cMET等），并且在2009年8月30日前完成相关注册作业。
